So i've been on a two week streak of minimal sleep. And apparently delerium makes me rhyme...

It's been crazy. No idea why i can't sleep. But at least Im getting some time on my Persona 3 game <.< FES.
Thanksgiving is next week. Using the opportunity to photograph my family for a class assignment. Homage project. My proff suggested Eilleen Cowin so I'm just going to go with it. She did this 'docudrama' series in the 80's. It's highly posed and I won't really have the opportunity to do that on Thanksgiving--but I'm gonna try to get some interesting shots anyway. I'm sure my family wouldn't mind posing for me but the odds of coordinating over ten people who have spent all day waiting to eat oyster stuffing are really really low.
Probably going to shoot digital. Since I won't be in Laffy I won't really have time to process and print film. My teacher was nice enough to let me turn this project in late since it's technically due the day before thanksgiving. She liked my idea though. Pretty sure it bugged some other people in the class but then they decided at the beginning of the semester that they flat out didn't like me. No idea why. It'd be one thing if I was obnoxious or a snob or something but I really don't get it.

Had a really miserable critique last friday where half the class found my photographs offensive??? I'll get them up here eventually but so far most people i've talked to can't figure out why they interpreted my project like that. And then someone fussed at me for not having perfect skin tones in my digital pictures...
Which is REALLY annoying since no one has ever taught me how to shoot in color, how to meter in color, or how to correct it in photoshop. They don't have ANY classes that cover that kind of stuff. My technical knowledge is pathetic because they just don't teach it.
But please... don't call me out on things that I haven't been taught. Not only that, but not everyone has the same skin tone. How exactly can you know if my skin tones are off unless you were at the shoot???
Blah. I'm so not excited about having to take this class again. It's the exact same thing but you're required to take intermediate twice before you can take advanced. BS.
Next semester I'm at least going to experiment with the medium format camera. Square negatives. Spiffy.
